Balenciaga sought new ways to expand its e-commerce content without relying solely on traditional photoshoots. Missing samples, incomplete looks, and the demand for rapid updates required a more flexible solution. Parallelia stepped in to design AI-generated characters that could seamlessly wear Balenciaga garments with 100% accuracy, offering a new model for luxury digital production.
Challenge
The challenge was ensuring both brand fidelity and production agility. AI-only workflows lacked consistency in styling and fit, while traditional production was resource-heavy. Balenciaga needed avatars that didn’t reference real people, yet still delivered the precision, realism, and aesthetic control expected of the brand.
Hybrid AI + 3D Character Creation
Parallelia developed a strategic workflow blending AI model generation, Metahuman, Unreal Engine 5, and 3D garment scanning.
AI Characters: Two models were created one human-like, one humanoid designed with creative freedom while aligned with Balenciaga’s standards.
Pose & Angle Control: Full flexibility in character positioning ensured seamless adaptation to creative and technical requirements.
Garment Accuracy: Still-life images, 3D models, and advanced scanning guaranteed garments corresponded 1:1 with physical designs.
Color Automation: AI-driven color variants enabled rapid expansion of product lines without new photoshoots.
The workflow combined multiple methods AI try-on, AI compositing, and AI + 3D photogrammetry depending on each product’s needs.
